Bif Naked. I gotta represent!

Submitted by Christian Nally on Thu, 2007-12-13 06:35.

I can think of few other artists that would do the DeepRockDrive experience like Bif Naked would. I've loved her shows, think she's super personable, and actually worth having one of those million front row seats for. I hope this request rockets straight to the top of the internet!

Learning Chinese Characters: Lili and the Land of Zi

Submitted by Christian Nally on Tue, 2007-11-13 02:49.

Coming soon to an internet near you, or a TV station, or a DVD, or...

It's Lili, and her adventures in the Land of Zi. No this isn't the little Lili that's been gracing my life lately, although their names may have been chosen for the same reasons!

Lili, the animated character, is the star of an animated children's series 'in the making' that helps kids learn about Chinese Characters. Robert Duncan, a good friend, has had a candle burning for this project for a little while now. And now, his vision is starting to materialize.

When presented with the vision for this project, it's easy to see that he's working with a 'dream team' of people pulling it together. A master teacher of Chinese characters, animation skills from the grid iron animation shops (you've heard of the characters they've helped create) and a production team that has the skills to bring this to life.

The Lili in my life took to this show right away. Now I get consistent requests... "Can we watch Lili again?" I can see that the Land of Zi is going to be a cartoon that she'll go back to and it's premise is one that anyone would enjoy presenting to their child. It leaves you with a much better feeling inside than the traditional fairy tales. It's visionary and skills building, and hopeful.

I can't WAIT to blog about the more fleshed out several minute animation that's already out of the cutting room, but that's still hush hush for now.

They have released a very short teaser on YouTube. Lili and the Land of Zi.

Stay tuned for more! I, for one, can't wait!
